The Blood That Speaks (II)

And to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the Blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel” – Hebrews 12:24.

In this series we have been considering the Blood of Jesus that speaks of the better things done for us. Of what better things does the Blood of Jesus Christ speak to you? “For this is My Blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins” – Matthew 26:28. Jesus never once spilled His Blood, but shed His precious Blood on our behalf. It was never an accident but a deliberate act of God! There are seven times Christ shed His Blood for us. The second time was in the Garden of Gethsemane.

The Blood That Shed

“For this is My Blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins” –Matthew 26:28.

In this series we have been considering the Blood of Jesus that speaks of the better things done for us. Of what better things does the Blood of Jesus Christ speak to you? Jesus never once spilled His Blood, but shed His precious Blood on our behalf. It was never an accident but a deliberate act of God! There are seven times Christ shed His Blood for us. The first time was at His circumcision when he was eight days old. “And when eight days were completed for the circumcision of the Child, His Name was called Jesus, the Name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb” – Luke 22:21.
Jesus Christ was the Word become flesh – Emmanuel, God with us. He was circumcised on the eighth day, the number of new beginnings, signifying that He was not only the covenant keeping God who came to fulfil the Abrahamic covenant by sealing it in His precious Blood; but, that He would also circumcise our hearts through faith in Him and the work of His Cross. “And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.” – Deut 30:6. “But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.” – Rom 2:29. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” – 2 Cor 5:17.

This happens when we become born again and are given a new beginning in Jesus Christ.

The Blood That Speaks

And to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel” – Hebrews 12:24. If you were walking down the road and happened upon a pool of blood, you would immediately stop, step aside, and consider that something traumatic had happened. The blood would speak to you of the possible pain and suffering of another person. Even so, the Blood of Jesus speaks of the things done for us. Stop and ponder this for a moment! Of what better things does the Blood of Jesus Christ speak to you? Forgiveness? Redemption? Cleansing? Salvation? Peace? Reconciliation? Eternity? Overcoming? Justification? Sanctification? Election? Calling? “For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins” – Matthew 26:28.

The Precious Blood Of Christ

There is a great need for the restoration of the centrality of the Cross in the preaching of the modern pulpit. We desperately need to see a restoration of the true Gospel of Christ!

“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” – 1 Peter 1:18-19.

In this series we will be considering the precious blood of Calvary’s Cross and it’s wonder working power for each of us. It was at the Cross that Jesus conquered satan and all his cohorts. Through His precious Blood, Christ purchased our redemption from sin and its power.
